Personal Information Protection Policy

________ (hereinafter referred to as the "Company") establishes the following privacy policy (hereinafter the "Policy") regarding the handling of users' personal information in the services provided on this website (hereinafter the "Services").

Article 1 (Personal Information)

"Personal information" means "personal information" as defined in the Act on the Protection of Personal Information: information relating to a living individual which can identify that specific individual by name, date of birth, address, telephone number, contact details, or other description contained in such information, as well as information which can identify a specific individual from that information alone (personal identification information), such as data relating to physical appearance, fingerprints, or voiceprints, and the insurer number on a health insurance card.

Article 2 (Method of Collecting Personal Information)

The Company may ask users for personal information such as name, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address, bank account number, credit card number, and driver's license number when they register to use the Services. The Company may also collect transaction records and settlement information containing users' personal information generated between users and its business partners (including information providers, advertisers, and advertising distributors; hereinafter "Partners") from such Partners.

Article 3 (Purposes of Collecting and Using Personal Information)

The Company collects and uses personal information for the following purposes.
1. To provide and operate the Company's services
2. To respond to inquiries from users (including verification of identity)
3. To send emails informing users of new features, updates, campaigns and the like for the services they are using, as well as other services provided by the Company
4. To contact users as necessary regarding maintenance, important notices, and similar matters
5. To identify users who violate the terms of use or who seek to use the services for fraudulent or improper purposes, and to refuse them access
6. To allow users to view, change, or delete their own registered information and to view their usage status
7. To bill users for usage fees in the case of paid services
8. Purposes incidental to the purposes of use set out above

Article 4 (Changes to the Purposes of Use)

1. The Company shall change the purposes of use of personal information only where it is reasonably recognized that the new purpose is related to the purpose before the change.
2. Where the purposes of use have been changed, the Company shall notify users of the revised purposes by a method prescribed by the Company, or publish them on this website.

Article 5 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)

  1. Except in the following cases, the Company shall not provide personal information to third parties without obtaining the user's prior consent. This does not apply where permitted under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information or other laws and regulations.
  2. Where it is necessary for the protection of the life, body, or property of an individual and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the person concerned
  3. Where it is especially necessary for improving public health or promoting the sound upbringing of children and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the person concerned
  4. Where it is necessary to cooperate with a national government body, a local public entity, or a party entrusted by either of them in carrying out affairs prescribed by law, and obtaining the consent of the person concerned is likely to impede the performance of those affairs
  5. Where the Company has given prior notice or public announcement of the following matters and has notified the Personal Information Protection Commission
    1. That the purposes of use include provision to third parties
    2. The categories of data provided to third parties
    3. The means or method of provision to third parties
    4. That provision of personal information to third parties will be discontinued at the request of the person concerned
    5. The method by which requests from the person concerned are accepted
  6. Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, the recipient shall not be deemed a third party in the following cases.
  7. Where the Company entrusts all or part of the handling of personal information within the scope necessary to achieve the purposes of use
  8. Where personal information is provided in connection with the succession of a business due to a merger or other cause
  9. Where personal information is used jointly with a specific party, and the person concerned has been notified in advance, or placed in a state where they can readily know, of that fact together with the categories of personal information used jointly, the scope of the parties using it jointly, the purposes of use of those parties, and the name of the party responsible for the management of that personal information

Article 6 (Disclosure of Personal Information)

Where disclosure of personal information is requested by the person concerned, the Company shall disclose it to that person without delay. However, where disclosure would fall under any of the following, all or part of it may not be disclosed, and where a decision is made not to disclose, notice to that effect shall be given without delay. Please note that a fee of 1,000 yen per request will be charged for the disclosure of personal information.
Where there is a risk of harm to the life, body, property, or other rights and interests of the person concerned or of a third party
Where there is a risk of significant impediment to the proper conduct of the Company's business
Where it would otherwise constitute a violation of laws or regulations
Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, information other than personal information, such as history information and attribute information, shall in principle not be disclosed.

Article 7 (Correction and Deletion of Personal Information)

Where a user's own personal information held by the Company is incorrect, the user may request the Company to correct, add to, or delete that personal information (hereinafter "Correction, etc.") in accordance with the procedures prescribed by the Company.
Where the Company receives a request under the preceding paragraph and determines that it is necessary to comply with that request, it shall carry out the Correction, etc. of the personal information concerned without delay.
Where the Company has carried out Correction, etc. pursuant to the preceding paragraph, or has decided not to do so, it shall notify the user without delay.

Article 8 (Suspension of Use of Personal Information, etc.)

Where the Company is requested by the person concerned to suspend the use of, or to erase, their personal information (hereinafter "Suspension of Use, etc.") on the grounds that it is being handled beyond the scope of the purposes of use or that it was obtained by improper means, the Company shall conduct the necessary investigation without delay.
Where, based on the results of the investigation in the preceding paragraph, the Company determines that it is necessary to comply with the request, it shall carry out the Suspension of Use, etc. of the personal information concerned without delay.
Where the Company has carried out Suspension of Use, etc. pursuant to the preceding paragraph, or has decided not to do so, it shall notify the user without delay.
Notwithstanding the preceding two paragraphs, where Suspension of Use, etc. would involve substantial cost or would otherwise be difficult to carry out, and where alternative measures necessary to protect the rights and interests of the user can be taken, such alternative measures shall be taken.

Article 9 (Changes to the Privacy Policy)

The contents of this Policy may be changed without notice to users, except with respect to laws and regulations and other matters otherwise provided for in this Policy.
Except as separately prescribed by the Company, the revised privacy policy shall take effect from the time it is posted on this website.
